Winner: Best Dressed Business 2025

Well done, Victor Harbor – you’ve again outdone yourselves and really painted the town pink for the 2025 Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival. It was wonderful to stroll around and check out the gorgeous window displays, and it’s the perfect illustration of how much the community comes together for the event.

This year, there were so many displays that we’ve had real trouble picking the best one!

So first, we’d like to offer a special thank you to Mr Menswear, for making sure we all felt properly welcomed to the event.

And now, here are three wonderful local businesses who get 2025 runner-up certificates (and bragging rights).

Last year’s winners Kid’s Lane did a stellar job yet again. Christine and the team have put together an absolute treasure trove of a window, featuring cars, music, records and memorabilia of not only Elvis Presley, but the one and only JIVE BUNNY (top of our wishlist for next year’s performing artists).

Coral Street’s own Coffee & Book Realm, who created an incredible – but incredibly difficult to photograph – sheet music display. We spotted Buddy Holly, Fats Domino, and Bill Haley dancing along the glass, and the shop itself offered visitors a little spot out of the weather, and an opportunity to curl up with a good book (or two).

Victor Harbor City Inn absolutely blew us away earlier in the week when we walked past and spotted this massive bit of artwork taking pride of place on a formerly blank wall. The new owners have certainly created a talking point – we wish it could be there all year round!

But there can be only one winner, and this year – after much discussion and deliberation, the award goes to…

Grundy’s Shoes!

This Ocean Street business proved that simple can still make a statement. Their pink-and-black window display nailed the festival theme with clean lines and thoughtful details, but kept things fun with balloons, bunting, and a few carefully-chosen albums (not to mention those “vintage” Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival shirts!).

While many shopfronts wowed us with detailed displays bursting with memorabilia, records, and retro charm, this entry stood out for its restraint. It’s a fresh, confident nod to rock ’n’ roll style that stopped us in our tracks for all the right reasons.

Congratulations to the team at Grundy’s Victor Harbor – we’ll be round shortly with your prize, thanks to the generous folks at The Big Duck!
