ABOUT VICTOR HARBOR

Victor Harbor is one of the most popular coastal playgrounds in South Australia and has been a favourite holiday destination for families since the late 1800s.

Located just under an hour’s drive south of Adelaide, via the Southern Expressway, Victor Harbors close proximity to Kangaroo Island, Goolwa, Normanville, Yankalilla and world class wine regions McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, make Victor Harbor the ideal place to base your Fleurieu Peninsula holiday. Visitors from the eastern states can get to Victor Harbor via the scenic Great Ocean Road, crossing the Murray River at Wellington by ferry.

Surrounded by fertile pastures, the town overlooks the sheltered waters of Encounter Bay, with coastline featuring the magnificent geological icons - The Bluff, and popular Granite Island which is home to the world's only daily Horse Drawn Tram service, which commenced operation in 1886. Encounter Bay attracts Southern Right Whales each year between the cooler months of May to October, who travel from Antarctica to mate and give birth in our protected waters.

Victor Harbor is blessed with an idyllic Mediterranean climate, making this nature lovers playground a great place to visit all year round.
